Kristina Lee Smith was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, A graduate in industrial design from California College of Arts and Crafts, she studied directly under Yves Behar.

Her approach integrates her American upbringing with her on-the-ground experience with China’s manufacturing landscape and allows her to develop products that are valuable for the retailer and end user while being efficiently manufactured in China.
This unique combination of deep Western market insight while working within the bounds of China’s manufacturing industry has allowed her to successfully bring to market 70+ innovative solutions with many more in the works.

She spent 8 years in Shanghai specializing in the development of consumer goods, sold directly and through retailers like Bed Bath & Beyond and GreatUsefulStuff.com, men’s luxury brand Rule #5. In 2016 she co-authored her first design patent for a specific type of charging station. She also has designed retail pop-up shops in San Francisco, trade show booths, and eCommerce websites.

Currently, Kris resides in Silicon Valley. She can help give shape to your idea, generate more solutions, choose colors/materials/finishes and draw up tech packs for sampling and manufacturing.
